Akron Reptiles mainly consists of two brothers Kevin Jarvis and Jeff Jarvis and their very supportive families. As young boys we had very strong interests in reptiles, but most of the time our sources were limited sure we found garter snakes milk snakes and an occasional box turtle but in the city there were only so many local fields and small wooded areas to go herping in. Our real opportunity was in the summer time when we would go to our grandmothers homes in West Virginia, unfortunately our grandmothers like many farmers and landowners kill first and determine the species last.

 

 

As we grew older our passion for the reptiles faded and we got busy with other hobbies motocross drag racing and families. It wasn't till a few years ago when my daughters came to me wanting a reptile that I realized that the passion was very much still alive. while researching their purchase I found myself amazed at the colors patterns genetics and the overall detail of the breeding process. So we went out and bought four baby corn snakes, what's the harm. From there the addiction grew and spread to my brother we know house several different species of snakes and are looking to help the herp industry any way we can.
